When and why did you take on Screen Rescue Chelmsford?
I was working in the industry for a national competitor, and wanted a new challenge back face to face with clients again. I joined this award-winning franchise to further develop the Chelmsford territory.
How was the technical training?
It was strange at first to be using such technically advanced equipment, but you get used to it very quickly. The GQA training is exceptional. We covered all the repair disciplines. This is when you get to understand why our equipment is so advanced.
What is the worst thing about your role?
Working outdoors, the cold winters can be harsh. I joined in summer so you appreciate the warmer days! Extreme heat and cold temperatures can affect how the glass reacts, so the GQA Technical Repairs training you go through is extremely useful.
Describe your day managing an established business
Everyday is different! I juggle fleet inspections and urgent repair calls with challenging windscreen damages, and handle glass scratch removals or tricky polishing jobs – it’s full on!
What assistance do the Franchise Team provide with their Central Support Services?
Behind scenes, the girls manage various areas of the business, so we can focus on our clients. We don’t need to worry about chasing invoices or checking credit limits or sending TOBs – it’s like having your own PA!
Reveal the short-term and long-term plans for the Chelmsford business?
I’m proud I’ve held the turnover at £60k. Now, I’m growing the business further; winning and developing new and existing clients with my goal to reach the £88k benchmark as I save up for a franchise.
What do you love best about your role?
I’m a genuine people person and there's nothing better I like than visiting my clients face-to-face. I'm now developing the business further ahead of becoming a Screen Rescue franchisee.
